I was editing an rtf document... specifically I was using the backspace key
to delete some onneeded spaces and get an underscore aligned correctly.

BTW... this is reproducable! Everytime I try to edit this file it dies this
way. The file works fine in WordPerfect so I doubt there's anything wrong
with the data file.
