Actual XML is the format AbiWord uses as its native format. I don't know
why you could not just use the document created by AbiWord as an XML file.
Perhaps you would want to clean up some of the comments.

Go ahead and take a look at a saved AbiWord file, its not in binary
format like Word or their product.
