We do this to keep the number of RESOLVED Bugs at a manageable level - the problem being that many reporters tend to forget about a Bug when the problem has been fixed. Out of sight, out of mind. But it''s still in our sight ([[BugZilla|BugZilla]]), bloating the logs, so we cull the neglected Bugs from time to time.

Bugzilla: Bug Closed--No Followup on Fix

When a Bug has been in the RESOLVED state for more than 2 months, without the reporter or anyone else verifying the fix, we will verify the Bug, adding a link to this text in the comment field.

We do this to keep the number of RESOLVED Bugs at a manageable level - the problem being that many reporters tend to forget about a Bug when the problem has been fixed. Out of sight, out of mind. But its still in our sight (Bugzilla), bloating the logs, so we cull the neglected Bugs from time to time.

Anyway, should you, the reporter or someone else, happen to come by such a Bug and disagree with it being closed in this manner, please reopen it and add information about why the Bug has still not been fixed.
