Subject: CVS Head segfaults on launch

Linux Mandrake 8.0 on PPC, BiDi, Perl, Pspell, GNOME all on. On launch,
debug gives the following output, then segfaults. The first time I tried
it, it was complaining about an unknown string ID in en-GB, but I
deleted that and it still died.
