rpm v3.04 will not work with any recent rpms. I attempted to upgrade to
rpm v3.05 without success so basically I am stuck with what I have. I
tried a really old rpm (abiword 0.7.8.1) however I could not get all the
dependencies correctly loaded. So I'm looking for a standalone tarballed
binary distribution. But again the links from the linux intel downloads
webpage for .tar files and for the Slackware .tgz will not work -
apparently the reference in sourceforge is missing. Can anyone please
point me to a downloadable .tar file with the statically linked binaries
for linux intel ??

Thankyou,
