Subject: AbiWord 0.7.13 on AIX

I have a few strange issues with AbiWord on the AIX platform.
When the program is started (on an RS/6000 43P-140 running AIX 4.3.3 ML07),
it has to be run with the -nosplash switch otherwise the system generates a
coredump.
Funnily enough, when I run the same binary using Exceed on a PC i.e. export
the Display to a PC, it runs fine with the splash screen. Could this be a
graphics issue?
Also, on an AIX box with a GXT-2000P card, once AbiWord is started, there is
no 'page' available to start typing, just a grey screen. If you move the
cursor, you can see the 'white' page flashing in the background. On an older
graphics card, the page displays fine and you can type.
All of this is run using the default AIX CDE environment.
The spell checker also causes a coredump.
Has anyone else seen this problems on AIX?
Andy
