Re: "Set Language" not sticking

I have tried both suggestions, but unfortunately have
not been successful in getting AbiWord to "stick" to
the Language setting I select (continues to default
back to US when opening a new document, and when
re-opening AbiWord).

I hope a future release of AbiWord will have fixed
this glitch, so those who wish to spell check in a
language other than US, may do so simply (and without
having to edit the AbiWord.Profile which has not
worked for me).

Presently I remain at a loss. So in the meantime, it
looks like this Canadian user is back to using one of
the big WP's.

Marc, and Frank, thanks for your attempting to help.
